Format and preparation of manuscripts

Studies in Portuguese, Spanish and English will be accepted. The title page must contain the title of the work, position and professional connection of each author, as well as address, telephone number and e-mail of the main author.

The article should contain the title in Portuguese, title in English, resumo and abstract, with palavras-chave and keywords. Information in the title page should not be in the article. It is suggested that the article be divided into sub-items. The articles will be submitted to at least two reviewers, members of the Scientific Council of the publication, or ad hoc reviewers. The editorial board of CSC will send a response letter informing the acceptance or not of the article.

The approval implies the immediate cession of copyrights for the publication in this journal, which will hold exclusivity to publish the unpublished text. The author will still possess the copyright for publication afterwards.

Formatting: Papers should be formatted in A4, double space, Arial 12, with the following margins: 3.0 cm left, 2.0 cm up, and 2.5 cm down. The title must be in bold; foreign words, and whatever should stand out, in italic; literal quotes, with less than 3 lines, must appear inside quotation marks within the text; longer literal quotes must appear in another paragraph, with 3 cm indentation to the left, with simple space. All quotes must be followed by their references. All pages must be numbered.

Illustrations: the number of charts, tables and/or figures (graphs, maps etc.) must be low (at most, 5 per article, with some exceptions, which must be justified in a file attached to the title page).

Tables: They should be separated from the text, consecutively numbered with Arabic numerals, with the same order with which they were mentioned in the text. Each should have a short title, without the use of internal horizontal or vertical lines. Explanatory notes must be placed at the footnote of the tables, and not in the title or heading.

Figures: Photographs, drawings, graphs, maps etc. must be cited as figures. They should be consecutively number with Arabic numerals, with the same order with which they were mentioned in the text. Captions should be presented at the end of the figure; illustrations should be clear enough to be reproduced, with minimal resolution of 300 dpi.

Equations must be centered and sequentially numbered, with numbers in parentheses, adjusted to the right.

Abstract: all articles submitted in Portuguese or Spanish should contain an abstract in its original language (from 100 to 200 words) and its version in English. The abstract must concisely present the core subject of the research, the used methods, the results and the response to the core theme of the paper. It should also contain at least 3 and at most 5 keywords, translated into each language (keywords, palavras-chave), preferentially using Descritores para as Ciências da Saúde, DeCS (obtained in http://www.simpleisworking.com/).

Acknowledgements: To those who gave some assistance to the paper, but who do not fulfill the authorship criteria, such as institutions that supported the study, as long as they give an expressed permission for that (document of responsibility for the acknowledgements).

Papers will be accepted for the following sections:

Original articles: articles resulting from empirical, experimental or conceptual research, or theoretical essays; maximum of 4,000 words.
